Measuring without a measuring tape?

We know that sometimes you may not have a measuring tape easily handy. Try out our cool tip to make your own measuring tape. You will need
  • a ruler (or a smartphone)     ruler icon
  • a string / wire      string icon 
  • a marker      marker icon
If you do not have a ruler, you can use the apps on your smartphone to replace the ruler. We have tried and liked the 'Multi Measures 2' app on the iOS and the 'Ruler App' app on Android. Both are free apps.
